Stove Top Casserole Recipe



Sometimes a stove top casserole recipe is just the thing to stir up some comforting memories of home. Green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, noodles and more make this recipe really shine. Make sure to start with the largest pot you have so there is room for all the ingredients. Invite the neighborhood, because they may just smell the inticing aroma and want to to try a bite! But you can be sure there is going to be enough to go around.

Servings: 10

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lb Ground Beef
1 1/2 cup Onion, Chopped
1 cup Celery, Chopped
1/2 cup Sweet Green Peppers, Chopped
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
19 oz Canned Tomatoes
19 oz Tomato Juice
19 oz Canned Kidney Beans; Red, undrained
10 oz Canned Mushrooms; Undrained
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1/3 lb Broad Noodles; Uncooked

PREPARATION
In a very large heavy pot or Dutch oven, brown ground beef. Add onion, celery, green pepper, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until vegetables are softened. Drain off any excess fat. Add tomatoes, tomato juice, kidney beans, mushrooms and chili powder. Bring to boil; stir in noodles. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until noodles are tender. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
