Biscuit Hamburger Casserole Recipe

My biscuit hamburger casserole recipe has a layer of delicious ready to bake biscuits on the bottom of the dish that are just heavenly. It is sort of like an open-faced sandwich if you can manage to serve it without mixing too much. For family gatherings and church potlucks alike, this casserole is always a highly praised item. I recommend slicing this dish into squares like a lasagna before serving.

Time to Prepare: 45 minutes
Time to Cook: 45 minutes
Serving: 8

INGREDIENTS
2 lb Ground beef
1 Onion; chopped
15 oz Tomato sauce
2 tsp Chili powder
1 T. Garlic salt
1 cup Cheddar cheese; grated
1 cup Sour cream
2 Eggs
2 cans Pillsbury Biscuits

PREPARATION
Brown the ground beef in a large non-stick pot with the chopped onion. Drain off the oil. Add tomato sauce, garlic salt, and the chili powder to the meat and bring to simmer. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded cheese (save some for the top), sour cream, and eggs together and then add to the hamburger. Bring to simmer again. Press one can of biscuits to the bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole, ungreased. Add the simmering meat mixture on top of the biscuits and then layer the top with the other can of biscuits. Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes. Top the casserole with some more shredded cheese and bake until it melts.
